Alexander “Lex” Eggermont is a Surgical Oncologist and Professor of Immunotherapy at the University Medical Center Utrecht and the Chief Scientific Officer of the Princess Máxima Center, Utrecht, Netherlands. He is the past Director General of the Gustave Roussy Cancer Institute and Emeritus Professor Oncology at the University Paris-Saclay, France, and Emeritus Professor Surgical Oncology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is a Fellow of the NIH-NCI Surgery Branch (Steve Rosenberg). He is past president of the EORTC, ECCO and the EACS
(European Academy of Cancer Sciences). He is a melanoma, immunotherapy specialist with over 1000 publications.
